  • TVRC applicants are requested to have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent.

  • ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

    Please provide details of your English Proficiency results and/or training & attach supporting documentation.
  • For TMU-STEP and TVRC:

    • Non-native English speakers must submit an English proficiency certificate at CEFR B2(Vantage) or above.
    • Applicants who received a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an approved/ recognised English-speaking country are exempt from submitting English proficiency scores.
    • Please refer to Article 3: English Proficiency for more information.

  • FEES AND CHARGES

    • Expenses for paid examinations required to access the laboratories, as per regulations, are not included in the above-mentioned fees.
    • Additional expenses charged by other facilities on campus are not included in the above-mentioned fees. 
    • Personal expenses such as meals, accommodation, travel insurance, and transportation are not included in the program fee unless otherwise specified.
    • Fees for the TRI must be paid in full unless otherwise specified by the hosting PI to whom you are applying.
    • Accommodation arrangements and related expenses are the applicant's responsibility.
    • The program hosting institution is not responsible for any expenses incurred should you choose to withdraw from the program early or be terminated from the program, including but not limited to accommodation and airfare.
    • THE ABOVE-MENTIONED FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

    IF YOU SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE APPLICATION FOR THE SAME PROGRAM, YOUR APPLICATIONS WILL BE REVIEWED SEQUENTIALLY BASED ON THE ORDER OF SUBMISSION, WITH ONLY ONE APPLICATION CONSIDERED AT A TIME.

  • DURATION

  • For TRI and TVRC applications, application submissions should be at least 2 months before your intended starting date. You should select a starting date 2 months ahead of today's date.

    If you are applying for both TRI and TVRC, please make sure the durations DO NOT overlap.

  • SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Limited to applicants of the TMU Research Internship (TRI).

    • Not all programs/internships offers scholarships.
    • scholarship awarding period varies depending on the scholarship.
    • Availability (if listed) and offers are determined by the mentor you are applying for.
    • The application cycle and deadline for scholarships may differ from that of the TMU Research Internship (TRI).
    • If you are offered the IIPP scholarship, you will need to submit a seperate application via https://iipp.tw/

  • ACCESS CARD

  • Short-term program participants and visiting scholars may apply for an access card to facilitate mobility within TMU campuses. The access card also serves as an EasyCard, a smart card that can be topped up and used on most types of public transportation, for city bike (YouBike) rentals, and as a debit card.

    Duration of access: The duration of your internship/ exchange program/ visit

    Accessible areas:

    • Transportation: Shuttle buses back and forth from the Shuangho Campus (Timetable and detailed information).
    • Building access and unit and laboratory access pertaining to your internship (college).
    • Library: Xinyi Campus. (For Shuangho Campus, you may enter by showing your access card and signing in.) The library at the Xinyi Campus is promoting Self-service at the moment. You may find detailed information on their website. (Opening hours and services)
  • In any case a replacement card is needed, a handling fee of NT$500 is charged for each replacement card. It is imperative that Short-term program participants and visiting scholars understand the usage of the access card, including accessible areas. This must comply with TMU regulations and laws of the Taiwan Government.
