This drop-out fee does not apply to cast members who are no longer able to perform due to injury, illness, or extenuating circumstances.
ATTENDANCE
Attendance at all rehearsals and performances is mandatory unless pre-approved. This includes Sunday rehearsals and all tech week rehearsals. The Little Mermaid will be performed at the Gordon Center for Performing Arts on Saturday, December 14th at 1:30pm and 7:30pm and on Sunday, December 15th 9th at 3:00pm. Mandatory tech/dress rehearsals will take place in the studio and at the theater on December 9th-13th, and other routine rehearsals will be held on Sundays between 1:00 - 6:30pm. Extra rehearsals on Saturdays may be added depending on dancer availability.
All anticipated absences MUST be noted earlier on this form. If unforeseen circumstances arise, and you must miss a rehearsal that has not yet been noted, please give us at least two weeks notice. Email charmcityballet@gmail.com to let us know. Last minute absences, unrelated to COVID-19, will not be tolerated and will result in expulsion from the production.
In case of major illness or an emergency, dancers will be excused from rehearsals but are expected to notify us beforehand. In case of minor injury, dancers will be expected to attend rehearsals to observe.
Dancers must stay home if they may be contagious and/or have any COVID-19 symptoms. Dancers must follow our COVID-19 quarantine and isolation policies found here: https://www.charmcityballet.com/quarantine-isolation-protocols. Any dancers who feel well enough may attend rehearsal virtually via Zoom.
When a rehearsal is missed, dancers are expected to be caught up on choreography before the following rehearsal.
OTHER
Dancers must be ready to dance at their rehearsal time. Please do not be late.
The CCB lobby will remain closed for rehearsals, but dancers may be dropped off and picked up at the front door. Parents/guardians are welcome to come in the building to use the bathroom, drop off food to their dancer, etc.
Appropriate ballet attire should be worn for all rehearsals. If you have any questions about what this means, please contact us.
The rehearsal schedule will be posted weekly on the CCB website (www.charmcityballet.com) under the “Performance” tab. Rehearsal schedules will not be emailed out, so it is your responsibility to check the website and find out when you are needed. The rehearsal schedule will change weekly.
Though not mandatory, dancers (who are 16 and older or in Ballet 5 and up) are encouraged to attend our drop-in class to be used as a warm-up before rehearsals. CCB cast members are given a discounted rate, and class goes from 11:30am - 1:00pm each Sunday.
All costumes are the property of CCB and must be returned. Performers will be held financially responsible for any damage resulting from improper care.
While costumes will be distributed by CCB to performers, cast members will be responsible for providing their own tights, shoes, undergarments, and stage makeup. More information regarding costuming will be provided closer to the performance dates.
Performers will be expected to maintain a professional attitude throughout the entire rehearsal and performance process. Disrespect toward any CCB staff or cast member, or the theater and it’s staff, will not be tolerated.
