BEAM Plus Certificate Validity Extension Application Form

The validity period of a BEAM Plus certificate defines how long the project owner can use the certificate for promotion or marketing. Applicant may apply for an extension of time for certificate issued by Hong Kong Green Building Council in case there are special circumstances. Please complete the following application form for processing.

Renewal of BEAM Plus New Buildings (NB) - Provisional Assessment (PA) Certificate

Applicant may apply for an extension of time for validity period of NB PA Certificate  in case there are special circumstances that result in a longer time required for FA completion. Please complete the following application form and provide supporting documents for our processing.

It is the project owners’ responsibility to determine whether the addition and alteration (A&A) works are considered as major. The principle is to assess whether the conditions that lead to the original BEAM Plus ratings are still valid. As a guidance, A&A to such an extent as to necessitate the reconstruction of not less than 50% of the superficial area of main walls, or major A&A in excess of 50% by volume, are usually regarded as major. In case these major A&A works arise, the project owners are advised to submit their projects to BEAM Plus (BI / NB or other schemes as appropriate) in order to obtain a new rating.

Renewal of BEAM Plus Neighbourhood (ND) Certificate

The Applicant may apply for an extension of validity period of ND certificates upon submitting the following application form, with supporting documents of  justification of the extension. The validity period can be extended for up to 2 times, each time being a 5-year extension. An assessment of the latest project state will be undergone by BSL, to ensure the development retains the essential elements of the original scheme.

Terms and Conditions

1. The application should be submitted with justifications at least one month before the expiry of the Certificate in case of NB, or at least three months in the case of ND.
2. HKGBC may decline the application if the applicant is unable to provide adequate and requested information.
3. The application of extension is free of charge on the part of HKGBC. For ND, the Applicant has to ascertain with BSL on cost issue.
4. HKGBC and/ or BSL may request the applicant to provide supplementary information and the Applicant shall comply with such request.
5. Please provide supporting documents via the submission box if necessary.

Notes:

1.The application for extension of validity is approximately about 2 weeks in the case of NB, or 3 months in the case of ND to proceed upon receipt of all the information required in this application form.

2. Upon successful application, HKGBC shall issue an email for result of the extension of validity period. For ND, the email may also indicate additional conditions including adjustment of rating if necessary.
