Mr. Sam Stein, President & CEO, Complete Care Management
Dear Mr. Stein,
We, the undersigned, join with the Jewish Labor Committee to express our concerns about the stalled negotiations with staff in your New Jersey nursing homes who are members of and represented by RWDSU Local 108 and 1199SEIU Healthcare Workers East.
It has come to our attention that
· Complete Care Management (CCM) is attempting to reduce its employees’ health care benefits, paid time off and other benefits;
· has not provided information to the union representatives whether CCM has received supplemental Medicaid payments from the Federal and State government that were to be used for salary increases and PPE for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other nursing home staff in New Jersey;
· 1199SEIU filed charges last month with the National Labor Relations Board against CMM for violations of Federal Labor Law.
Nursing home staff have been on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic of the last 18 months, often putting themselves and their families at high risk. Many have worked continuously with no time off.
We call on Complete Care Management to do the right thing and negotiate in good faith with your employees’ union representatives. The staff in your New Jersey facilities should be treated with the dignity and respect that they deserve.
Sincerely,
