GAME DESIGN FACILITATOR
Lead a game design course (using G4C's unique curriculum) that will lead to students to creating their own original digital games on a social issue, and submit them to the annual Games for Change Student Challenge, competing for recognition and rewards that further their educational and career goals.
Must participate in a mandatory training on G4C’s Intro to Game Design Curriculum.
Job Responsibilities:
- Attend training on G4C’s Intro to Game Design Curriculum
- Plan, prepare, and implement G4C’s signature impact game design curriculum.
- Oversee daily lesson plans and activities that focus on developing student’s game design abilities.
- Act as mentor and leader in game design for a group of up to 30 students.
- Prepare learning materials and equipment.
- Interact with students to provide guidance on game design, development and competition submission.
- Ensure that all center rules, policies, and guidelines are adhered to.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience using and creating projects using Scratch
- A minimum of 2 years experience working as an after-school teacher, teaching assistant, or a similar role.
- Awareness of the STEM/technology field
- Hands-on project or work experience that involves technology
- Experience with coding and programming
- Ability to foster a fun and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in teaching, childhood education, or a similar field.
Payment:
- Project fee will commensurate with experience.
