Board of Directors Expectations
- Attend Board meetings. The Foundation Code of Regulations requires attendance at half of all board meetings each year. Board members cannot miss more than two (2) consecutive regularly scheduled meetings annually. The Board meets four (4) times a year.
- Contribute your time and professional expertise. Actively participate in quarterly board meetings and committee assignments. Members serve on one committee annually.
- Financially support the organization. All members of the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation Board of Directors are required to make a minimum personal contribution of $1,000 to the Foundation annually. Each board member is encouraged to generate a minimum of $5,000 in contributions on an annual basis, including a required minimum personal contribution of $1,000 (YAP seat
minimum personal contribution is $500).
- Be a current Ohio Farm Bureau member. All members of the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation Board of Directors must also be a members of Ohio Farm Bureau through their county of residence.
- Attend Foundation events. The Foundation executes multiple events each year. Board member attendance is vital to the success of these events.
- Cultivate new donors. Actively communicate the Foundation’s mission and purpose to connect and open the door to potential new donors in an effort to increase fundraising results.
