Welcome to the Van Aken District Makers Market 2022 application!
We host indoor and outdoor markets to allow local Northeast Ohio makers to sell within the Van Aken District. We do this as a part of our Entrepreneur Initiative to further our mission to support the local economy and foster entrepreneurship, especially among underrepresented individuals.
Once you have selected a date(s), we will take time to review your application. If approved, we'll reach out to you with a payment form. Payments are nonrefundable but may be transferred to a different market date.
Who should apply?
We welcome makers, crafters, small brands, and artists. Products should be sourced and/or produced in Northeast Ohio.

Marketing
We promote our markets with extensive social media promotions and online advertising to ensure that we bring out as many shoppers as we possibly can! We ask all of our participants to also promote the markets!
Cancellations
Weather: All marketplaces will be held light rain or shine unless we call off due to severe weather or other extreme circumstances. Cancellations by Makers Market will allow participants to roll over their booth fee to a future market date/venue of the same value.
Participant Cancellations: Due to the effort involved in planning and placement, and the costs involved in advertising and turning away other participants once the markets are full, there are, unfortunately, no refunds for participant cancellations.
Other Details
Insurance: Each participant is responsible for their own business/personal liability insurance to cover any loss, damage, liability or injury at the Makers Market marketplaces. Participants waive any and all claims against The Van Aken District and its partners.
Permits: Each participant is to hold all valid applicable permit(s) to do business in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Participants are also responsible to pay applicable sales/use tax for sales.
