Christine Ash retired in 2015 from Case Western Reserve University as the Vice President for University Planning and Institutional Research and currently serves on the Community Advisory Board for the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. Mrs. Ash recently experienced a recurrence of lung cancer. She was expecting to participate in a clinical trial but recently learned she is not eligible. Mrs. Ash is currently undergoing radiation treatment.
Ethel Law is currently participating in a clinical trial for pancreatic cancer. Mrs. Law is participating because she felt it was important to explore all options and do everything possible to get the best treatment. She's grateful she was chosen for the trial and feels her healthcare team has been very supportive.
Bill Smith is an attorney and a lung cancer survivor who had mets to the brain, liver and bone. Mr. Smith participated in a clinical trial from 2015-2017. The medication being tested during the trial was approved while Mr. Smith was on the trial. He chose to participate in the trial because he felt it was the only option left for treatment. To date he remains cancer free.
