Brooklyn Arts Council Arts in Education Teaching Artist Application

Brooklyn Arts Council accepts and reviews applications year-round on a rolling basis. Please note that you will be asked to upload a cover letter, resume, sample lesson plan, and work samples of your professional and student work. You will also be asked to provide the names, titles, and contact information of three people who are familiar with your work in arts education. Questions with an asterisk * are required. All questions regarding identity are optional, and are collected for statistical purposes, so that we may track who we are reaching with this application form. You may begin this application and return later.

Cover Letter or Audio/Video Statement

In your cover letter or audio/video statement (no more than three minutes), please introduce yourself and your artistic practice. Additionally, please describe your artistic and teaching philosophy and experience. Acceptable files are DOC, DOCX, PDF, MP4, MOV, WVM, WEBM, WAV, AIFF, or MP3. You may also provide a link to a video/audio statement, rather than the file itself.

Please provide 1 - 3 samples of your professional artistic work and student work. We prefer digital images and/or video, but also accept text documents if text best represents your work. Be sure to label all uploaded files with your last name (ex: Smith_studentperformance) Acceptable Image files are JPG, GIF, PNG and TIFF. Acceptable Video files are MP4 and MOV. Acceptable Text files are DOC, DOCX and PDF.
