OBO Foster Application
  • Communication Acknowledgment

During your time of fostering, you must be able and willing to give updates and make availability for events, messages, or training sessions. If you can't do these things, we will place the dog in a new foster if it doesn't work out. If foster exceeds six months - a year (depends on the dog) in care we will have him or her shifted to a new environment - and a new foster dog will be placed in your home. It's a great way to learn copping and new things!

You will have to work with our trainer, Smarty Paws Canine College LLC, as soon as/if you see, or know of behavioral needs. It’s a valuable resource designed to support you and your foster dog and reflects our commitment to teamwork and shared success. When to Reach Out -Fostering can come with challenges, especially with puppies or dogs adjusting to a new environment. If your foster dog begins to show behaviors such as: •Nipping or biting •Jumping or excessive humping •Mouthing during play •Difficulty settling •Dog/Outside People introductions •and MORE! - That’s when you get to reach out and notify the Director so additional training support can be provided. **During your foster dog’s decompression period, we strive to be proactive in setting both you and the dog up for success.** *Are you open to support?*
