  • Learn to Skate programs

    • Pre CanSkate – 3-year-old skaters,  1st year skaters that are still working on getting up and basics (moving forward and backward).
    • CanSkate – Passed pre CanSkate and/or can get up on own, move forward and backwards. Age 4 & up. Skaters can wear figure skates or hockey skates and hockey equipment or any comfortable winter clothing. No plastic skates allowed.
      • 45 min session 2 days a week
      • NEW - Tuesday & Thursdays 5:30-6:15
    • CanPower – Passed level 4 CanSkate –Skaters must be born in 2014 or years prior. Skaters must wear full hockey
      equipment.
      • Mondays - Novice
      • Wednesdays - Atom/Peewee
      • Fridays - to be determined based on skaters registered
      • 60 min session 1 day a week
      • Day depends on skater level.

    Team Programs

    • Synchro
      • Recommended Stage 4 and up
      • Any age
      • Thursdays for the Club team (No travel or competition) 30 min session.
      • Fridays for competitive teams. Competition schedule will be determined by the team's category.
      • Friday sessions are 45 min and 1 hour depending on the team with a 30 minute skill session for both teams.
      • Fee for ice and coaching only. Competition, costume and extra coaching fees paid for by skaters separately.
      • Adult - 18 and over. Time slot will depend on skater and facility schedules.

    Figure Skating Programs STARSkate

    • STAR A – Passed Stage 6 CanSkate working on STAR 1 & 2 (Skills, FreeSkate and Dance) * This is the same as our “STAR 1” from last year. This group will now include Pre-STAR as well (Stage 4 and up)
      • 2 days per week;  Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:00-4:45
    • STAR B – Passed 2 out of 3 STAR 2 assessments working on STAR 3 and up
      • 2 days per week; Combo of Group lesson/ guided practice time
      • Tuesdays 4:45-5:30
      • Thursdays 4:45-5:30 & 6:15 - 6:45
  • KidSport Grants 

    • KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. KidSport Rosetown provides grants of up to $750 per eligible child, per year (January 1st - December 31st) towards sport registration fees.

      KidSport grants are intended to be used for sport registration fees; travel and competitions are not eligible for funding. Click here for application form. 

  • Refunds

    • $185 of each skater’s registration fee will be non-refundable .(Registration, insurance & Ice fee that must be paid prior to skaters getting on the ice and are non-refundable to our club.
    • Prior to November 1, refunds are available (less $185 registration, insurance and ice fres). 
    • After November 1, refunds will require a doctors note.
    • Covid refunds will be at the discretion of the Outlook Skating Club board.
  • Photos & Cell Phone Usage

    • I give the Outlook Skating Club permission to publish photos or use the above skater’s name for promoting our club or club events.
    • I understand that cell phones, video cameras or digital cameras are not allowed in the dressing rooms at any time during Can Skate, Star Skate, Power Skate or Synchro Skating. This rule applies to all skaters, parents, siblings and board members unless special permission is given by the skating coach.

     

    Parent Code of Conduct

    • Skate Canada is committed to ensuring that all skaters have the opportunity to participate in a safe and welcoming environment that  is encouraging and promotes their overall development. Parents have an enormous influence on skaters’ experiences in the sport.
    • The quality of a skater’s experience is determined by their relationships with parents and the manner in which parents conduct themselves in the Skate Canada environment.
    • In this code “parents” shall refer to “parents and guardians”. This code applies to all parents who are members of Skate Canada or have children who are members of Skate Canada. Parents shall abide by this code at all times while participating in any Skate Canada club or school, competition, or activity.
    • Parents shall refrain from any behaviour or comments which are profane, insulting, harassing, sexist, racist, abusive, disrespectful or otherwise offensive without hostility or violence.
    • Parents shall emphasize the importance of values like sportsmanship, respect, cooperation, competition and teamwork to their son/daughter offering praise for competing fairly, participation and skill development.
    • Parents shall model and encourage their son/daughter to maintain a healthy balance between skating and life. (e.g., school, other activities, social life, etc.)
      Parents shall model and encourage balanced, healthy food choices and subscribing to an active and healthy lifestyle.
    • Parents shall set high, but reasonable expectations for their son/daughter’s participation in skating focusing on development and enjoyment for the child.
      Parents shall instill confidence in their son/daughter’s ability and skill development, always avoiding comparisons with other  skaters.
    • Parents shall celebrate the acquisition of skills and goals achieved by their son/daughter.
    • Parents, along with the professional coach and the athlete, shall be considered members of a team whose main concern is the child’s overall progress and development.
    • Parents shall respect that the professional coach is responsible and empowered for the on‐ice and off‐ice development of the athlete. A parent’s role shall be to take a healthy interest in their child’s progress and development and be responsible for the child’s nutrition, rest, adherence to off‐ice training regimen set by the coach or other fitness professional, overall health, life‐balance, and moral and emotional support.
    • Parents shall ensure their son/daughter wears proper skating clothing and equipment.
    • Parents shall never provide alcohol or drugs to minors in a Skate Canada environment.
    • Parents shall never provide or advocate the use of performance enhancing drugs or substances.
    • Parents shall avoid any conduct, which brings their club, skating school, Section or Skate Canada, into disrepute, including but not limited to abusive use of alcohol, non‐medical use of drugs and gambling.
    • Parents shall openly support and uphold this code of conduct policy and take action and steps to ensure other parents follow and uphold this code of conduct policy.
    • Parents shall adhere to the policies, procedures, rules, standards, and ethics of Skate Canada at all times.

Your personal information is required to register you with Skate Canada in any capacity, including, without limitation, as a Skate Canada registrant, coach or in connection with your affiliation with a skating club or skating school and to administer various services, such as Skate Canada events. By submitting this form, you expressly provide your consent to the sharing of your personal information with Skate Canada and as described herein for purposes of registration and receipt of national services delivered by Skate Canada.   • ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND WAIVER

    1. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF INHERENT RISK
      I understand that participation in skating, figure skating, and any other sporting activities listed in the enclosed appendix (hereinafter the “Sports Activity”) is voluntary, and involves inherent risk during participation, including the risk of possible accidents, physical injury, or exposure to the COVID-19 virus or other infections or infectious diseases as a result of attending training, club events or competitive events. I freely accept and fully assume all such risks, dangers and hazards, including but not limited to personal injury, disease transmission, death, property damage or loss, resulting from my participation. I have carefully considered the risks involved, and I have full confidence that reasonable precautions will be taken to ensure the safety and well-being of myself (or my son/daughter/ward).
    2. WAIVER
      I do for myself (or my child), and our respective heirs, executors, administrators, successors and assigns, hereby waive,release, and forever discharge Skate Canada and/or Skate Canada – Saskatchewan , all Regions of Skate Canada -
      Saskatchewan, Outlook Skating Club, their officers, partners, agents, employees, servants, representatives, volunteers, coaches, officials, successors and assigns (the “Representatives”) of and from any actions, causes of action, complaints, demands and claims or any recourse whatsoever (“Claims”) that I have or may have in the future in any way connected with my (or my child’s) participation in the Sports Activity contemplated herein, whether in law or in equity, in respect of personal injury, illness or disease transmission, loss of life, or property damage of any kind or nature, and I do hereby discharge the Representatives from any such liability. This includes negligence, breach of contract or breach of any statutory or other duty of care.
    3. INDEMNIFICATION
      I further agree to fully indemnify and defend Skate Canada and/or Skate Canada - Saskatchewan, all Regions of Skate Canada – Saskatchewan, Outlook Skating Club and any of their Representatives from and against any and all Claims brought against Skate Canada and/or Skate Canada – Saskatchewan, all Regions of
      Skate Canada – Saskatchewan, Outlook Skating Cluband any of their
      Representatives, including all related costs and expenses, and against any loss, costs, damages, or expenses which Skate Canada and/or Skate Canada – Saskatchewan, all Regions of Skate Canada – Saskatchewan, Outlook Skating Club and any of their Representatives may sustain, suffer, incur, or be liable for resulting from, arising from, or in any way related to my (or my son/daughter/ward’s) participation in the Sports Activity. I also agree and undertake not to make any claim or take any proceedings against the Representatives set out above, or any other person or corporation which might claim contribution or indemnity under the provisions of any statute or otherwise from the Representatives set out above.
    4. SEVERABILITY
      The provisions of this Assumption of Risk and Waiver shall be deemed severable and if any provision or portion thereof is
      held invalid, illegal or unenforceable for any reason, the remainder shall not thereby be invalidated, but shall remain in full
      force and effect. 

    Acknowledgement: I am aware of the nature and effect of this Assumption of Risk and Waiver and I fully understand all of the terms and conditions above. I understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing this Assumption of Risk and Waiver and I am signing it freely and voluntarily without inducement. I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian of the participant named below and that I am entitled to his or her custody and control. I understand the aforesaid inherent risks that could arise from these activities, I grant  permission for my son/daughter/ward to participate in the Sports Activity and other activities incidental thereto and I execute this Assumption of Risk and Waiver on behalf of myself and my son/daughter/ward.

    BY ACKNOWLEDGING AND SIGNING BELOW, I AM DELIVERING AN ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE THAT WILL HAVE THE SAME EFFECT AS AN ORIGINAL MANUAL PAPER SIGNATURE. THE ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE WILL BE EQUALLY AS BINDING AS AN ORIGINAL MANUAL PAPER SIGNATURE.

    I officially declare that I read, understand, and accept and will follow the Outlook Skating Club’s Policies, By-laws and “Parent Code of Conduct”. Any violation of the above mentioned, could result in your skater(s) being removed from the Outlook Skating Club with no refund issued.
