In accordance with CDC and American College Health Association recommendations, Hiram College has determined that vaccination against COVID-19 is necessary to fully operate our campus as well as protect the well-being of our community. In addition, the FDA recently awarded full approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Thus, COVID-19 vaccines are now required for all faculty, staff, and students.
Exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccine requirement will be considered for individuals with medical conditions that prevent them from being vaccinated and for individuals with sincerely held religious beliefs that prohibit them from being vaccinated, consistent with federal and Ohio law.
Exemption requests will be reviewed by medical and disability services staff at the Julia Church Health Center, and students will receive a confirmation that their request is in process within three business days.
Unvaccinated students, faculty and staff will be expected to comply with additional health and safety requirements including, but not limited to, weekly COVID-19 testing and required masking while on campus.
The vaccine requirement and associated exemption process supports the health and safety of our community and is designed to assist all members of the community.
