GAHP SPEAKERS BUREAU
USGBC-LA has developed The Green Affordable Housing Program (GAHP) to provide community resources for reducing energy and water use while reducing greenhouse gas emissions in disadvantaged communities in the Eastern San Fernando Valley.
Among the resources provided to accomplish the program goals are sustainability education for tenants including guidance on applicable utilities programs and rebates to be delivered through workshops and coffee talks at 20 selected multi-family properties starting in Summer 2022.
Education sessions will be delivered onsite or virtually, in English and Spanish, and will cover green building principles, such as energy efficiency, water conservation, occupant health, and clean mobility.
Speakers will be provided with proper instructions and presentation materials, and have the opportunity to participate in a train-the-trainer session.
Qualifications
- Professional knowledge, skills, degrees, credentials in sustainability or green jobs sector (desired)
- A genuine interest in engaging students at all levels
- Basic presentation and public speaking skills for in-person and/or virtual workshops
