Please note that most of our clients request a NAATI certified translator as a first preference. If you don't currently have this certification, it may take us a little longer to assess your application.

NAATI is the national standards and certifying authority for translators and interpreters in Australia.
You are not required to be NAATI certified to complete this form and register with us.
However, we do work with NAATI certified translators in the first instance. For this reason, we are unlikely to have many projects for you unless you work in a rare language or have a particular specialisation.

For most work that we undertake for our clients, particularly for Government-sector clients, they require us to engage translators who agree to abide by the AUSIT Code of Ethics. As such, we ask our translators to agree to be bound by the AUSIT Code of Ethics in order to ensure that we comply with these requirements.
Post-editors must apply a 'professional approach' towards the post-editing task and have:
a) a general knowledge of MT technology and a basic understanding of common errors that an MT system makes;
b) a general knowledge of computer-aided translation tools;
c) the knowledge and ability to establish whether editing MT output makes sense, in terms of time and effort estimation;
d) the ability to follow the instructions received and the ability to focus on specific issues and make specific corrections as given.
All of our translators are engaged as independent contractors. Once your application has been approved, you will be required to sign an independent contractor agreement in order to register with us.
