Food Diary
Please complete a 5 Day Food Diary for Medical Review with Dr Samra
Research shows that a 5-day food diary provides enough information to give both the patient and clinician enough insight into eating behaviours.
You can submit one day at a time, and this will be entered into your medical file.
- Write everything you eat for five days.
- Include at least one weekend day.
- Ensure all beverages and snacks are recorded, as well as food eaten at meals.
- Missed meals or snacks, mark it N/A
- Record hunger level right before a meal
- Record fullness and satisfaction level right after a meal (on a scale of 0-10). This helps focus your attention on hunger and satiety cues.
- Measure the exact amount of food if you know it (such as a 200g can of tuna). If not, use your best estimate (such as a fist-size serving of vegetables) of the amount and ingredients.
- Estimate grams of NET CARBS in your meal/snack (net carbs are total carbs minus fibre). You may also want to track fat as it is the primary source of energy for the body when carbs are reduced
- Advanced users may optionally provide Ketone or Glucose measurements as well.
