  • AP134 - Overheating Competency Scheme Application

  • As building regulations require more highly insulated, airtight buildings, and with the expected impact of climate change on summer temperatures, overheating in buildings is becoming an increasing concern for the industry and Government.  Upcoming changes to building regulations will place more emphasis on mitigating overheating in homes than ever before.

    Elmhurst Energy’s Overheating Competency Scheme has been created to recognise trained, competent modellers and provides a facility for industry to locate modellers to carry out dynamic simulation modelling to show overheating risk has been mitigated.

    Fees

    Initial application fee:

      £95.00 + VAT*

    Accreditation fee:

    £395.00 + VAT**

    Subsequent annual renewal fee:

    £395.00 + VAT

    * Elmhurst has waived the £95 applicaton fee to support new entrants at this time

    ** Following receipt of your application you (or the bill payer if you will be working for an employer/other organisation) will receive a 30-day invoice at the end of the month.

  • Members of the Elmhurst Energy Overheating Competency Scheme must have in place thier own Professional Indemnity (PI) Insurance to cover the work they do. 

  • Competency

  • To be eligible to join the Elmhurst Energy Overheating Competency Scheme you must:

        -  Be competent at dynamic simulation modelling with access to a relevant software package, and

        -  Have attended an overheating training course covering CIBSE TM 59*

    Furthermore, upon receipt of your application to the scheme, we will send you a competency assessment.  Once completed and passed, you will then be registered to the scheme.

    We are now able to accept paperless direct debits.  If you would like to sign up to direct debit please email accounts@elmhurstenergy.co.uk stating your account number.  You will then receive a confirmation email letting you know your direct debit has been set up.

    By completing and submitting this document I declare that all the information provided is accurate and truthful.  If successful, I promise to abide by the Elmhurst Energy Code of Conduct and will ensure any Terms, Standards or Codes that are currently defined and may be specified in future, are followed.

    I agree that if my application is unsuccessful, £50 of my application fee will be retained to cover administration and test case marking costs.

    If successful in my application I also agree to visit the Elmhurst Energy website on a regular basis (at least monthly) to ensure that I remain aware of any changes to the Terms, Standards or Codes that apply to the Elmhurst Energy Systems Accreditation Scheme - www.elmhurstenergy.co.uk.

    I confirm that I have discussed this application with the bill payer who has agreed to pay all charges for work I do on their behalf.  If this comes into dispute then I agree to pay the account myself.
