    Summit Information:

The Virginia Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy is pleased to announce the call for presentations for a session at the 2025 Virginia Jump$tart Financial Literacy Summit. Attracting approximately 50-100 attendees each year, the high-profile Summit brings together Virginia’s middle and high school teachers and administrators, as well as the state’s leading proponents of financial literacy to learn about this important issue, hear best practices and get additional training on personal finance topics. This event is provided free-of-charge.

There will be two kinds of presentations:

    • Plenaries (25-30 minutes) are whole-group, interactive, professional development sessions. Up to two speakers will be accepted.
    • Roundtables (7-10 minutes) are short opportunities for conversation, networking, and the sharing of resources – perfect for publicizing a program and connecting with attendees. Up to twelve roundtables will be accepted.

Please note that audio/visual equipment and capabilities will be available for both the Roundtables and Plenaries. All presenters are responsible for bringing 50-100 complimentary copies of any handouts/materials/resources to the event.

This is a free event, including complimentary lunch and afternoon snacks. For planning purposes, all speakers are asked to also register as attendees.

    Guidelines for Proposal Submission:

Presentations will be selected by the Summit Planning Committee and are evaluated on the timeliness of the topic, quality and cost of curriculum/resource, potential participant interest, a well-defined description and relevance to financial literacy education. Virginia Jump$tart is particularly interested in presentations on free resources and/or strategies that have proven to be successful in helping improve student knowledge of personal finance and money management topics. We are looking for presenters to provide specific teaching resources and show participants how to access and use them in a virtual or in-person classroom.

Please keep in mind that all presenters will be on a contributing basis. That is, they will not be financially reimbursed. Proposals must be submitted through this form no later than August 8th, 2025.

Final selections will be announced by August 20th, 2025.
