Here is what you can expect during your procedure. The process itself consists of 4 phases:
During the first phase, I clean your eyebrow area and take pre-procedure pictures for documentation purposes. Your brow region is then cleansed prior to drawing on the outline of the eyebrows with a skin crayon or skin marker. I will "clean up" your existing eyebrows by tweezing any hair that is outside the outline. You will be shown the outline and will need to approve of the shape prior to the actual microblading procedure being done.
The second phase is sometimes referred to as the "skeleton". Your eyebrows will be cleansed again using an antiseptic wipe. Then I will use a pre-sterilized and disposable microblade to add hair strokes into the eyebrows. Pigment and a numbing agent will then be applied to that area. The numbing agent is not applied before these strokes are done and because of that, the second phase may be slightly uncomfortable. It's been compared to the feeling of a mild tattoo.
Once the numbing agent has had time to take effect, I will then redo the strokes from phase 2 by using the same microblade in a very light, back and forth movement allowing me to reinsert pigment into the hair strokes.
The fourth and final phase is where I will reapply pigment on those strokes with a small, disposable applicator. The eyebrows will then be cleaned off with a gentle foaming soap and you will get to see the finished results! We will take post-procedure photos and I will explain the aftercare instructions to you.
The process can take anywhere from 2-4 hours to complete with phase 1 taking up the majority of the time. Your brows will take approximately 3 weeks to heal. Your touch up appointment will be scheduled to occur in ideally 4-6 weeks.
