Space-based infrastructure, services and access are critical to everyday life. As the space domain is increasingly commercialised and contested there is an urgent need for space legal and policy professionals who can help set and maintain an appropriate balance of interests of all stakeholders and help ensure a responsible, safe and sustainable space environment.
The University of New South Wales in Canberra (at the Australian Defence Force Academy), School of Humanities and Social Sciences, in partnership with the Space Law Council of Australia and New Zealand (SLC-ANZ), is convening the inaugural Australia and New Zealand Space Law Conference, in 2022. The conference, whose tentative overarching theme is, “Integration of legal support for space”, will focus on law and policy issues arising from commercial, military, scientific and government space activities.
Due to COVID-19, the conference will be delivered in a hybrid format. To plan for the conference, we are seeking feedback from potential attendees regarding preferred dates, anticipated attendance mode and sponsorship interest.
This survey consists of 5 short questions. Responses to this survey will be used to help shape the conference and will not be provided to unrelated third parties. Responses may be shared with conference organisers, including UNSW Canberra, SLC-ANZ and potential sponsors. SLC-ANZ may contact you regarding membership if of interest, as indicated by your response to question 5.
