  • Puppy Application

    The information contained in this application is used only for the purpose of placing a puppy and will not be used elsewhere. We just want to get to know your household to help you decide which puppy will best fit your family. There is a non-refundable $200 waitlist fee to be on our Master Waitlist that will go towards the total price of the puppy. Once there is a confirmed pregnancy, you will be contacted via email to confirm if you want to be on the Reservation list for that litter. An additional $300 reservation fee will be required to hold your puppy pick spot and will be collected after a confirmed pregnancy and will be deducted off the total price of the puppy.

  • Preferences

    Please keep in mind that the more flexible you are about size, gender, color, etc., the more likely you are to find a suitable puppy. The more specific you are about aesthetic requirements, the longer you should expect it to take to find a puppy to 'match' your requirements. Breeding is a complex endeavor, and our first priorities will always be health and temperament, not color or other aesthetic traits. That said, we will, of course, do our best to match you with the puppy you find most visually appealing and we will never force you to get a specific puppy. If a puppy isn’t available that you want, you will be allowed to transfer to another litter.

    This section is designed to help us understand your prior experience with puppies/dogs. Our primary goal is to ensure all of our puppies go to prepared and loving homes. First-time puppy families are absolutely welcome to apply; we are happy to work with committed owners of all experience levels and provide necessary guidance!

  • Puppies often have a lot of energy and can chew, dig, bark, have potty accidents, and cry/whine at night. They can play roughly and scratch you with their teeth/nails and also get sick on floors/furniture/in the car. Do you understand the patience you need and challenges you will face during puppyhood?
  • Do you understand the time and energy and maintenance it takes to care for a Doodle puppy:*
  • Will you take your puppy to the vet at least once a year for annual vaccines and a checkup?*
  • Puppies and dogs in general can be very costly (feeding a good quality food, flea/tick/heartworm preventative, grooming, pet supplies, training, vet costs, etc.) Are you financially prepared to take care of these expenses?*

  • Spay/Neuter Requirement

  • I understand that this puppy is not to be bred and is required to be spayed/neutered (unless you’re an approved breeder), and I am subject to significant fines and other damages as stated in the contract if not spayed/neutered and/or bred. I understand that the contract requires spay/neuter between 8 and 24 months of age, no exceptions.*

  • Fine Print

    We need to be sure you have a basic understanding of what is involved with taking home a puppy. We provide as much guidance, support and education as we can about each of these topics, but ultimately it is your responsibility to be an educated and informed puppy parent. Your application will not be responded to and will be rejected if you do not agree to the terms below.
  • When I’m ready to pay the waitlist/reservation fee I would prefer to pay with: *These are the only accepted forms of payment. No exceptions.*
  • I understand that I am getting a puppy and that no matter how well prepared and trained my puppy is, it is still a baby and I should expect my puppy to have accidents in the house and crate, to cry and bark, to nip and bite, and to require a great deal of patience and attention. I understand that these are NORMAL puppy behaviors and that I expect them to happen.*
  • I understand that Goldendoodles have grooming requirements including almost daily brushing & teeth brushing, weekly/biweekly ear cleanings & nail trims, full trims/grooms every 1-3 months, baths, blow drys, etc.*
  • I understand that while Summer Sun Doodles provide Foundation Puppy Training (potty training, crate training, leash training, etc) and that I need to learn how to train and maintain my dog's training and that may require the assistance of a dog trainer or behaviorist. My puppy will not come to me fully potty trained, crate trained or leash trained.*
  • I understand that puppies have delicate digestive systems and that changing the food my puppy goes home eating can cause severe gastric distress. I agree to use the same puppy food Summer Sun Doodles sends my puppy home on until at least 3 days of bringing my puppy home. I understand that it is recommended to keep the puppy on the same food that is sent home until the puppy is at least 3 months of age.
  • I understand that while Summer Sun Doodles screens their breeding dogs for hip health, canine hip dsyplasia is multi-factorial and that it is equally important that I maintain my dog/puppy at an ideal weight, provide quality nutrition, don't over exercise my puppy, and provide a safe environment to do my part in maintaining my puppy's joint health.

  • Waitlist/Reservation Terms

  • I understand that my Waitlist Fee/Reservation Fee gives me a place on the wait/reservation list in order of acceptance.
  • I also understand that the breeder, however, has the right to reserve the first two puppy pick spots from any litter for a breeder or service dog.
  • I have chosen Summer Sun Doodles because of their expertise and experience. Therefore, in the best interest of the puppies and of my family, I agree that Summer Sun Doodles also reserves the right to not offer a given puppy to a family if she believes that the puppy would not be suitable for that family for whatever reason.
  • I have read through and understand all information on Summer Sun Doodles’ website as well as their Reservation List Agreement, Adoption Agreement, Health Guarantee and Spay/Neuter Contract.*

    By sending this electronically, I acknowledge that I have completely read this questionnaire and comprehend it fully. I declare all information is true and filled out to the best of my ability. I understand that if any false statements have been given, Summer Sun Doodles reserves the right to refuse to sell a puppy to me and my waitlist/reservation fee is forfeited. I understand that applying does not ensure approval. I acknowledge that my waitlist fee and reservation fee are non-refundable.
