The Shamrock Curling Club is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all. Consistent with this commitment, the Shamrock’s Board has established a Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy (click here). This Policy requires that any individual participating in on-ice curling activities during the 2021-22 season must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by October 25, 2021 OR have received a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of your curling activity.
Definition of “Fully Vaccinated”
“Fully vaccinated” is defined as those individuals who have received Health Canada approved vaccination(s) for the COVID-19 virus, including:
Two doses of AstraZeneca, Pfizer or Moderna vaccine (or a combination thereof)
One dose of Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine
And who have received the required does(s) at least 14 days prior to your curling activity
Any individual who cannot be tested or vaccinated based on medical or other protected grounds recognized by the Alberta Human Rights Act can request an exemption. Further details on how to apply for an exemption can be found in our vaccination policy and FAQ (click here). Exemptions requests should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
In order to implement our Vaccine Mandate Policy the Shamrock needs to collect information on your vaccination status. Any and all information related to your vaccination status will be kept private by the Shamrock’s office staff and Board. It will be retained by the Shamrock for the duration of the 2021-22 season and will be destroyed on March 31st, 2022. For more information about the collection of personal information please contact email@example.com.
The Shamrock reserves the right to conduct random selection reviews to require proof confirming your vaccination declaration (possibly via a forthcoming QR code system). Failure to provide the required information, or providing a false or misleading declaration, will result in termination of your membership without refund and may involve a ban from the Shamrock (at the Board’s discretion).
