The safety of residents within this complex is our top priority. To maintain a safe environment we must work together to identify and resolve any potential hazards efficiently. In New Zealand, Health and Safety legislation places shared obligation on both the occupier and the owner of the building. Within the terms of your tenancy agreement you have control over your own apartment, however we require your acknowledgement of responsibility for shared spaces as detailed below.

Safe lifting - when lifting and moving items on the stairs please use safe lifting practices. Bend your knees to protect your back. Utilise a two-person lift for items weighing 15kg or more. Check dimensions of stairways and doors prior to moving items.*

Preventing trips and falls - always use handrails. Beware of any uneven surfaces.*

Clear walkways - keep stairwells, hallways and entrances clear at all times.*

Hazardous substances - do not store or use any hazardous substances (such as petrol, diesel, kerosene, etc) on the premises.*

Hazardous equipment - do not tamper with any electrical supply equipment. All necessary work must be completed by certified contractors with appropriate authorisation.*

Fire equipment - do not tamper with any smoke alarms or other fire equipment.*

Smoke-free premises - no smoking of cigarettes, vaporisers or e-cigarettes in any common areas aside from the designated smoking area. Please use the ashtrays provided.*

Chewing gum - is not permitted anywhere in the complex.*

Supervision of visitors - all visitors, including children, must be adequately supervised while on the premises.*

Contractor policy - all contractor work carried out onsite is to be prearranged with and approved by the Property Owner, the Building Manager or the Property Manager.*

Reporting of Health and Safety concerns - any identified Health and Safety concerns are to be reported to the Building Manager who will address these as required.*
