Americorps Seniors of Alamance County Volunteer Assignment Description
Assignment Title: TeleCare Caller
Purpose of Assignment:
To provide telephone reassurance calls to older adults in Alamance County who are homebound, living alone, ill or disabled.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Complete the TeleCare volunteer information form.
2. Call the client as agreed upon at the time determined by the client and
3. Call the client's emergency contacts to introduce yourself.
4. Report to the Americorps Seniors of Alamance County Director/TeleCare Coordinator when you are not able to call the client at the scheduled time or for an extended period of time.
5. Advise the Americorps Seniors of Alamance County Director/TeleCare Coordinator when it's not a good match. Continue to call until the client is reassigned.
6. Follow emergency procedures if the client does not answer the phone after three attempts.
7. Report client changes to the Americorps Seniors of Alamance County Director/TeleCare Coordinator.
8. Keep all information concerning your client confidential.
9. Turn in time sheets at the end of each month to the Americorps Seniors of Alamance County Director in person, by mail or by email.
Time Commitment: 10-15 minute call 2-3 times per week, or as determined by volunteer and client.
Volunteers receive a handbook at orientation, client contact information and timesheets to keep track of calls and volunteer hours.
Americorps Seniors of Alamance County Volunteer Station:
Volunteer performs volunteer service from their own home, using their own phone.

I understand by accepting this volunteer assignment that I can only perform the duties of this assignment and am responsible for reporting volunteer hours to the Americorps Seniors of Alamance County Director at the end of the month.
