Tēnā koutou,
We'd like to warmly welcome you to the BATS pitching process.
Thank you for taking the time to fill out this application.
We want to make our application process accessible to all people. If this process doesn't work for you PLEASE contact us directly to let us know what would work best for you.
The DEADLINE for open submissions is 5pm, on the last Friday of each month. You will be contacted within one week thereafter if we have an opening for your show that month, or the month you are pitching for (if different).
Have a show ready to go? Sometimes things don't always go to plan and programmed shows need to cancel or reschedule at short notice, or we have space in our program for a shorter season or one-night-only performance.
We are now accepting monthly submissions for any and all types of live art - theatre, improv, circus, music, dance - to present 1-5 nights in any of our theatre spaces: The Dome, The Stage, The Studio, or The Lumen Bar, at any time of the year!
We welcome emerging through to established artists in all art forms that want to get their design, music, live performance or anything else on stage at BATS.
Check out our strategic plan to see our mission and vision, and learn more about the BATS Cycle for career paths. No matter where you are in your career, we want to hear from you!
Need more info? There is heaps of information about putting on a show at BATS on our website. Go check it out!
To apply for the you can fill out this form
OR
attach a video.
The quality of your video doesn't matter, we just want to provide an alternative to writing. If you're submitting by video, make sure to tell us WHO is involved, WHAT it is you want to do, WHICH space you ideally want to present in and an idea of your BUDGET, SET design if applicable, TECH needs, and MARKETING plans. You can use the questions in the "your pitch" section as a guide.
We suggest having a covid contingency budget and performance plan in the event that we must operate with restricted audience capacity and distance requirements. Check out our COVID response plan, which will give you an idea of our current and/or restricted audience capacity. BATS is committed to providing a safe environment to perform in under all levels of the traffic light system.
We look forward to hearing from you and are here to help! If you have any questions, or prefer to pitch in person, please don't hesitate to get in touch with our Creative Producer, Carrie (carrie@bats.co.nz).
Mā te wā,
BATS
