Furniture Assembly or Installation:
The installers will charge a minimum rate of $65 per hour if the budget is lower than that amount.
Long Distance Moving:
Phone and Apps Estimates: It's important to provide an accurate Inventory List as your Estimate is based on this list. The Inventory List helps determine the number of movers and hours required, aiding in accurate scheduling and estimation. Adding more items after providing the Inventory List will increase the time and cost of your move.
Local Moving:
Local moving is based on an hourly rate. You will pay according to the number of movers required, with a minimum time of 2 hours starting from their arrival at your property or our office if the distance is 35 miles or more. Telephone estimates provide an idea of the cost but are not final. Several factors like distance from the parking lot, narrow hallways, stairs, heavy items, and extra services (e.g., furniture disassembly/assembly, uninstalling doors or TVs) can affect the time and cost.
Cancellations/Rescheduling:
A 72-hour notice is required for a full refund of your deposit.
Payment:
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Cash payments are also accepted.
A 3.5% fee applies to payments made with debit or credit cards.
By confirming your payment, you authorize Messolar LLC to charge your card for this payment and future payments as per the terms outlined in this agreement.
Additional Charges:
Additional charges may apply for transportation of items not included in the original estimate, extra pickups/deliveries, removal/replacement of doors, last-minute packing, and any out-of-the-ordinary service.
Bulky Items:
Bulky items such as pool tables, pianos, riding lawn mowers, safes, gun safes, hot tubs, and motorcycles incur an additional charge beyond the hourly rate.
Arrival Times:
We provide an estimated arrival window and strive to meet it. We will inform you if we are running early or late. Ensure we have a contact number for moving day.
Inclement Weather:
Additional costs may arise due to weather-related staging difficulties. We try to protect items from weather damage but cannot guarantee it. Snow and ice removal assistance is available at extra cost. Jobs may be canceled during severe weather for safety and rescheduled as soon as possible.
Items Not Transported:
We do not transport or take responsibility for laptops, high-cost electronic items exceeding $300, firearms, or jewelry.
Firearms:
We are not responsible for firearms. Please remove any firearms before your move.
Travel Time:
For jobsites more than 35 miles from our office, travel time to the jobsite and back will be charged.
TVs:
Plasma and flat screen TVs must be crated or packed in original boxes for moving due to their susceptibility to damage. We will not move these items without proper packing.
Packing Services:
If We Pack: We recommend our packing service. Contact Customer Service for details.
If You Pack: Use boxes, not paper or plastic bags. Tape tops and bottoms of boxes. Clearly mark destinations and note "FRAGILE" where necessary. Ensure fragile items are properly packed.
Contents of Drawers:
Empty drawers of pressed wood or particle board furniture. Remove contents from desk drawers. Standard 2-drawer file cabinets can remain packed if locked or taped shut. Empty lateral and fireproof file cabinets. Clothing can stay in dresser drawers but remove fragile, valuable, and heavy items.
Elevators:
Reserve and pad elevators for moving day and note any time restrictions.
Damages:
At the start of the move, the foreman will discuss wrapping/packing options and costs to protect your belongings. If you decline these services and sign a release, we are not liable for damages. Report any damage immediately.
Loading/Unloading Damage:
We are only responsible for items in our immediate care, custody, and control.
Pressed Wood/Pressboard:
We do not disassemble or reassemble pressed wood/pressboard furniture. If you disassemble it, we will move the pieces but not reassemble them.
Appliances:
We do not disconnect/reconnect washers, dryers, or refrigerators. We do not replace electrical cords on dryers or remove doors with water/electrical connections. Refrigerator doors and freezer drawers may need removal for narrow spaces.
Released Valuation Coverage:
We provide federally mandated default coverage of $0.60 per pound damage payout with many exclusions.
Exclusions:
Some items are excluded from coverage. Understanding this list will help you prepare better for your move.
Release of Liability:
If placing items as requested might cause damage, you may sign a release accepting responsibility for any resulting damage.
Right of Refusal:
We reserve the right to refuse service under conditions deemed dangerous, unsanitary, or abusive.
Gratuities:
Gratuities for movers/packers are highly appreciated.
