The Adelaide Health Foundation is committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent applicants study nursing at Tallaght University Hospital. Student Nurses may apply for a means tested bursary each year in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Year.
Bursaries of varying amounts are awarded based upon the means tested income of the applicant. The awarding of a bursary is solely within the discretion of the Foundation and will be given to the most deserving applicants each year. Bursaries are provided from the voluntary funds of the Adelaide Health Foundation.

P/S - The parameters of the scheme have been changed and those who have narrowly missed out on the SUSI scheme due to household income level may be eligible for AHF Bursary

Basis for assessment (“Who” is Means Tested/Assessed)
Leaving Cert and School leavers between the ages of 17 and 23 years on or before 1 January on year of entry - the income of the applicant’s parents/guardians will be assessed.
Mature dependent applicants - over 23yr olds who are residing with and are dependent on their parents/guardians, the income of the applicant’s parents/guardians will be assessed.
Independent mature applicants - the applicant’s own income and their spouse’s, civil partner or co-habitant's income (where applicable) will be assessed.
The assessment will be made for the income year prior to the year of entry (i.e. 2020)
Proof of all income is required for each relevant section.
You must be a Registered Student at Trinity College Dublin to be eligible. Proof of registration must be provided.
You must be attached to Tallaght University Hospital.
Proof of SUSI grant is required where applicable.
Proof of address of the person whose income is being assessed is required.
If you are unsure whether a source of income should be included in your application, you should provide details of this income in the application form. [In certain circumstances further documentation may be required].
It is important that all applicants give details of all dependent children in respect of the income which is the basis of the application.
You may supply a description of your own or your family’s circumstances on the ‘Special Circumstances' section if you feel that it would be helpful in assessing the application.
A Bursary must be re-applied for every year.
