  • YOUTH LEADERSHIP COUNCIL APPLICATION

  • Commitment

  • To successfully join the City of College Park's Youth Council, a participant must:

    • Be a resident or attend school in the City of College Park or be a youth of a College Park employee.
    • Be in the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade for the 2023-2024 school year.
    • Commit to attending all the scheduled monthly meetings, from Nov – May.
    • Obtain transportation to and from meetings and events.
    • Have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • Code of Conduct

    • Be prompt and present at all meetings and dress appropriately.
    • Be respectful in the treatment of and the interaction with other people.
    • Be mindful of safety issues to ensure that everyone stays safe from harm and injury.
    • Be courteous and do not talk on or use a cell phone during meetings.

    Include attached recommendation form from a teacher who has known you and can attest to your leadership potential and ability to manage the demands of both school and the Youth Council.

  • I understand that I am applying for participation in the Youth Council for the City of College Park that the appointing authority will require an interview prior to consideration for appointment. I agree to the Commitment, Code of Conduct and the attendance requirement. I agree to comply at all times with all requirements of the Youth Council Rules and Regulations. I, the undersigned assume the risk for any and all injuries occurring to my child arising out of any and all events at any City of College Park event.

  • PROCEDURES FOR YOUTH COUNCIL APPOINTMENT

  • The City of College Park will inform selected candidates via email and notify each educational institution that serves students residing within the city limits of College Park. Candidates will also be posted on the City's bulletin board, printed newsletter, or any other means of communication to inform the community including transmittal of a press release via local media. 

    Applications are due October 30, 2023. Applications should be sent to the City Clerk's Office via email, mail, or in person. The information for remittance applications: City of College Park, City Clerk's Office, 3667 Main Street, College Park, Georgia 30337.

    The Youth Advisory Committee will review the applications and select candidates to be interviewed from October 2-30, 2023.

    The Youth Council candidates will officially be announced on November 6, 2023.
