    • What is MicroShading?
    • MicroShading is a form of permanent makeup. Permanent makeup is cosmetic tattooing. The specialized technique used for permanent cosmetics is often referred to as “micropigmentation”. The cosmetic implantation technique deposits colored pigment into the upper reticular layer of the dermis. Please make sure that you’re comfortable with the permanence of facial tattooing. Like with any form of tattooing, pigment colors change in the skin over time and become duller. Cosmetic tattooing is somewhat less permanent than body tattooing but traces of pigment will more than likely always remain in the skin and need ongoing annual touch-up sessions.

    • How long does MicroShading last?
    • The pigment used in this procedure is semi-permanent, therefore the procedure typically lasts up to 18-24 months. Because of the unique qualities of each individual’s skin and lifestyles, we are unable to guarantee how long your results will last. You will likely need a touchup within 18 months.

    • How long is the procedure?
    • Your first appointment will take between 1.5-2 hours, as plenty of time will be taken to assure that we have created the shape you desire before the procedure is performed.
Your second appointment (6 week touch up) will be between 60-90 minutes.

    • What’s the healing process?
    • When you leave from your appointment your brow area may appear pink, and the pigment itself will seem darker than you may prefer. The day after your appointment few people would notice anything unusual. Throughout the healing process (1-2 weeks) they will slowly fade to a softer, more natural shade, but they will not be unpresentable.

    • Does it hurt?
    • Each individual will have a different experience with the level of discomfort associated with the service. When numbing is applied, some say it is relaxing and they only feel the pressure being applied. Others say it feels about as uncomfortable as tweezing. Still there are some who will feel that it is more uncomfortable. Numbing options are available at your scheduled appointment.

    • Will I have to take time off from work?
    • Most clients go to work the same or the following day. All procedures do look bold initially and will be their darkest in the first 48 hours following the procedure. Please ensure you read the “aftercare tips” for your procedure prior to booking and prepare yourself accordingly.

    • I’m pregnant, can I get this procedure?
    • Sorry mom, it’s worth the wait.

    • I have no brows, can I still get this procedure?
    • Absolutely, this is a great option for those who suffer from Alopecia, Trichotillomania, or have been through Chemotherapy. MicroShading can even correct past wax catastrophe, over tweezing, or the normal hair thinning.

    • What is your sterilization/sanitation process?
    • *All needles and hand tools are single-use only, come in a sterilized packaging, and disposed of after each client.
*Machines or anything non-disposable are completely covered with disposable coverings and disposed of after each client.
*Implements such as cotton swabs, wipes, brow razors etc., are single-use only and disposed of after each client.
*Gloves are worn at all times during the procedure and disposed of after each client.
*All stations are covered with disposable plastic and then thoroughly disinfected with a cleaning spray after each client.

    • How do I get my skin prepped for this eyebrow procedure?
    • *Do not pick/tweeze/wax/tint/dye/perform electrolysis one week before the procedure.
*Do not tan two weeks prior or have a sunburned face.
*Do not have any type of facial/peel/laser treatment on your face 2 weeks prior to treatment.
*Do not work out the day of the procedure.
*Do not have botox 3 weeks prior.

In order to avoid excessive bleeding and poor color deposit:
*Do not drink alcohol 24 – 48 hours before the procedure.
*Do not consume caffeine before your procedure (yes, no coffee before your appointment).
*Do not take an aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this thins the blood).
*Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E two weeks prior (natural blood thinners).
*Discontinue Vitamin A/Retinol products one month prior to treatment, both creams, and supplements.

If you took any antibiotics or steroids, you have to wait a minimum of 30 days after you stop taking it before your procedure.

    • What is a touch up and do I need one?
    • Touch up is a follow up procedure which takes place a minimum six weeks after your initial visit, after your skin is fully healed. How much work you will need on a touch up will depend on several factors such as:
      *Your desired results
*Your body’s healing capabilities and ability to retain pigment.
*Your dedication to following post procedure instructions.
