Creating a Trauma-Informed Response to Child Abuse
Presented by: Jerri Sites, MA and Tony DeVincenzo, MA
Understanding the impact of trauma on MDT members and the effects of trauma on child victims, their parents and family, motivates MDT members to take a more empathetic stance when working child abuse cases and collaborating with their agency partners. Through activities and interactive discussion, this course will provide participants the opportunity to identify ways they can implement trauma-informed practices when working with children and families as well one another.
Pre-work: watch The Edge of Compassion Ted Talk by Francoise Mathieu.
