Coaches Conduct and Ethics Policy for Drive5 Inc.
I will, at all times, conduct myself in a manner that serves as a positive role model.
I will treat each coach, player, official, parent and Drive5 staff member with respect and dignity. I will require this of my team’s players and parents as well.
I will learn the strengths and weaknesses of my players and place them in situations in which they will have fun and learn the fundamentals of the sport that I am coaching. My emphasis will be on fun, participation, and skill development of each player.
I understand that smoking or use of tobacco in the presence of children or parents in our facility or while volunteering is prohibited.
I understand that each participant needs to have a signed waiver on file with Drive5. I will be fully responsible for any player on my team that does not have a waiver on file.
I will ensure that I am knowledgeable in the rules of basketball and will teach the rules to my players.
I will remember that I am a youth coach, and that the game is for the players – not for the adults.
I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my players ahead of any personal desire to win.
I will, and will require my team’s players and families to, use appropriate language, dress appropriately (shirts on in public areas, no undergarments showing), and respect all property while inside the facility.
I will report to the Drive5 Sports Center staff any situation that I observe that is detrimental to the goals set forth in this policy.
