Empathetic and Qualified: Undergraduate Internship for Peer Supporters (EQUIPS)

THRIVE’s EQUIPS internship program centers undergraduate students whose identities are marginalized.

*Representation is at the heart of THRIVE. We encourage applications from multiply marginalized people across a breadth of identities and experiences. THRIVE Lifeline is volunteer run and fully staffed by people with diverse underrepresented identities. We are majority POC and LGBTQ2S+ and seek to serve our communities.

**We are not currently offering paid internships.

You may be a current undergraduate student within the breadth of STEMM fields who has struggled to gain internship experience due to any number of marginalizing barriers. If you are seeking an internship or practicum that will:

Meet you where you are as a student who experiences marginalization
Empower you and give you undeniable professional experience
Equip you with the skills to directly impact the lives of others who may share your intersecting identities and experiences
Provide you with a full education program, 1:1 mentorship, and ongoing coaching
Offer flexibility in your work hours help you prioritize other aspects of your life

You may be in a rural area, an international student, or otherwise lack access to an identity-affirming internship or practicum. Our interns work remotely and internationally. If you have questions about whether we can host your internship, please let us know.

Selected EQUIPS candidates gain access to the Non-Carceral Peer Supporter Full Educational Program as well as additional training elements, donated by our partners at Stronger U. This internship program is valued at $5000+. EQUIPS interns will be expected to sign a contract confirming that they will complete all required programatic elements within 1 year.

The EQUIPS Internship program is customizable between 200 and 400 hours and can be completed within one semester to one year (acceptance and timing agreements will be dependent upon our mentorship availability as well as your ability to commit to the program timing. Please be aware that accelerated programs will require greater time commitments). Please let us know the number of hours and length of time that you are seeking
