ADOPT A STRAY RESCUE
  • BEFORE COMPLETING THIS APPLICATION PLEASE READ AND INITIAL EACH OF THE FOLLOWING, INDICATING THAT YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO EACH.

I have discussed this adoption with all adults in my home and we all agree that we are ready to adopt at this time. IF I CHOOSE TO NOT ADOPT AFTER MY APP HAS BEEN APPROVED I WILL MAKE A $50 DONATION TO ADOPT A STRAY RESCUE TO COMPENSATE FOR THE TIME SPENT PROCESSING MY APPLICATION. This is not an application fee. This is only for those who apply, are approved, and then applicant backs out due to not being ready, going on a vacation etc.

I am able to accept this dog within 1 week, if my application is approved.  I UNDERSTAND THAT THE RESCUE DOES NOT HAVE ADEQUATE SPACE TO HOLD ADOPTED DOGS. HOLDING A DOG THAT IS ADOPTED WOULD MEAN ANOTHER DOG WHO NEEDS RESCUE WILL HAVE NOWHERE TO GO. ASKING THE RESCUE TO HOLD MY DOG WOULD BE A DEATH SENTENCE FOR ANOTHER DOG. THEREFORE I WILL NOT APPLY UNLESS I AM ABLE TO ACCEPT MY NEWLY ADOPTED DOG WITHIN 1 WEEK OR AS SOON AS HE/SHE IS ELIGIBLE TO LEAVE THE RESCUE.

I understand that most AASR dogs are located in Arkansas unless their listing specifically states otherwise. As such, meet n greets are not an option and I am ok with accepting this dog based on the description and pictures provided.

I have notified my personal and vet references that they will be contacted by AASR and have given them permission permission speak on my behalf.

I have spoken with my landlord/property management (if you reside in a rental) and have their permission to adopt this pet and have notified them that a AASR representative will contact them to verify the pet policy.

I understand that rescue dogs often come from negligent and/or abusive situations, and therefore will need time to adjust to our home and family. I will not have unrealistic expectations of this pet. I will give adequate time, space, and patience to allow this dog to fully adjust to our home. I will follow the 3/3/3 rule of adopting. (3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to get comfortable, 3 months to fully adjust)

I will learn about and adhere to proper introductions of my current pets and new pets.

***We will reach out via email typically within 48 hours of receiving your application. Please keep an eye on your email and check your spam as sometimes that’s where our emails end up.
