In order to provide a safe, quality experience for your child we have provided the following reminders and regulations:
Sign In and Out: Please check in with camp staff when you arrive to drop off and pick up your child or children. Camp staff will check your child in and out each day. Please carry photo identification for verification purposes.
Camper Drop Off: Please drop your camper off promptly at 9:00 a.m. at the Education Center. Please be aware that children may not be dropped off before 9:00 a.m.
Camper Pick-Up: You may pick up your camper any time during the day, but no later than the camp-day ends at 3:00 p.m. Please refer to our Late Policy for details. *Please notify staff if you need to drop your child off late or pick up early. We do many activities throughout the shelter all day and if you arrive to pick up your child early we may not be in the education center.
Contact: During camp hours you can reach Lizzie Hart (Camp Director) at (760) 707-7638. If you are unable to reach Lizzie you can also try the front desk at (760) 753-6413.
Dress Code: Campers should be dressed to play. Closed-toed shoes are required. Please also send your child with a jacket or sweater if they get cold easily. Please apply sunscreen to your child before arriving at camp as many of our activities will be held outdoors.
Lunch/Snack: Please provide a snack, lunch and bottle of water for your child each day. No glass containers. We will have a designated snack and lunch during our camp day.
Absences: Please recognize that no refunds will be provided for campers who are absent during their week of camp.
Sick Policy: For the health and safety of all of our campers, sick children should not attend camp. If your child is sick, please do not send them to camp. If your child becomes sick while at camp, please be prepared to pick them up as soon as you are notified.
Personal Belongings: Please label all of your child's belongings. Due to limited storage please leave backpacks at home. Campers will not need anything at camp besides themselves and their snack, lunch and water. Please note children may bring cell phones but they will be unable to use them during camp hours. RCHS is not responsible for any personal belongings.
Personal Pets: We know that your pets are great, but please leave all pets at home.
Animal Care: We know that you are coming to camp because you love animals. Campers will be able to interact with a variety of animals during their week at camp. Campers will have an opportunity to meet and touch selected animals every day at camp. These interactions will be for a limited time, however, as this is only one of many camp activities. Campers will not be required to clean up after our pets or care for them. We leave that up to our specialized animal care staff. These animals have been selected by our staff as appropriate, child-friendly animals. Campers will be required to follow all directions concerning our animal friends. Failure to do so may result in revoking of animal interaction privileges. Campers will also be required to wash hands after all animal interactions.
