Britain is in the grips of another fuel crisis with one in three petrol stations in the south forced to shut after climate activists caused days of disruption at oil terminals.
Around 1,200 pumps south of the midlands have been forced to turn away motorists, the Campaign for Fair Fuel has claimed, in the wake of the action by Just Stop Oil.
The eco protestors have been targeting oil terminals across the south of the country, including in Hertfordshire, Essex and Warwickshire this morning by locking themselves to pipes.
Given the current situation with fuel shortages, we are adopting a Business Continuity Plan should the situation become worse. (below)
In the meantime, we envisage that getting fuel is difficult enough without you having to drive around a waste more fuel and operational time looking for a Key-Fuels Station to use the Fuel Cards.
With immediate effect, if there isn’t a Key-Fuels station within close proximity of where you are working and you need to re-fuel, then you have Director’s express permission to use any fuel station and pay with cash for which you will be immediately reimbursed. You must obtain a receipt for reimbursement of expenses and for Map Group to reclaim the VAT.
The Business Continuity Policy will also cover; that you need to ensure at minimum each driver should retain half a tank of fuel to ensure that you can always get back home from your working location, and fill up prior to commencing work the following week until this situation resolves itself.
