  • BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION & AFFIDAVIT

    As a potential candidate for employment with Trumbull Career and Technical Center, you are hereby notified that a criminal record check, including fingerprints, will be required if you come under final consideration for employment. A satisfactory criminal records check is a precondition for employment. TCTC will provide instructions for completing an Ohio Web check. If you have not resided in Ohio for the past five years, you will also be required to complete a Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint screening. TCTC may choose to employ you conditionally, pending receipt of the results of a BCI check. If the criminal records check shows that you have been convicted of or plead guilty to any felony, and offense of violence, robbery, drug trafficking, or child endangering, you will not be employed by our district. Likewise, if you fail or refuse to cooperate in a criminal records check, you will not be employed by our district.

    The specific criminal offenses that bar employment are:

     

    Murder or aggravated murder

    Pandering obscenity and/or child pornography
    Voluntary or involuntary manslaughter Disseminating matter harmful to juveniles

    Assault, felonious assault, aggravated assault

    Pandering any sexually oriented materials involving or depicting minors
    Failure to provide proper care for a functionally impaired person Use of minor in nudity-oriented materials/performance
    Aggravated menacing Robbery or burglary or aggravated
    Patient abuse or neglect Endangering children
    Kidnapping, abduction Contributing to unruliness or delinquency of a child
    Child stealing or child enticement Domestic violence
    Rape Carrying concealed weapon
    Sexual battery Having a weapon while under disability
    Felonious sexual penetration Discharging a firearm at or into school or residence
    Sexual imposition or gross sexual imposition Corrupting another with drugs
    Corruption of a minor Trafficking in drugs
    Importuning Placing harmful objects or substances in food
    Voyeurism Any other felony as per ORC 3319.31
    Public Indecency Any other offense of violence as per ORC 3319.31
    Prostitution Any other theft offense as per ORC 3319.31
    Compelling or promoting prostitution Any other drug abuse offense not a minor misdemeanor

  • STATEMENT AND RELEASE FOR BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION

    My signature below authorizes the school district to conduct a background investigation and authorizes the release of information in connection with my application for employment. This investigation may include such information as to criminal or civil convictions, driving records, previous employers, and education institutions, personal references, and other appropriate sources. I waive the right to access to any such information, and without limitation hereby release the school district and each and every reference source from any and all liability arising from their seeking, obtaining, giving, or releasing information regarding my employment, academic credentials, qualifications, fitness and/or suitability for employment with the Trumbull Career and Technical Center. This release includes all of the sources cited above and includes, but is not limited to: the local Sheriff, information from the Central Criminal Records Exchange of either data on all criminal convictions or certification that no data on criminal convictions are maintained, information from Ohio or other State Department of Social Services, Child Protection Services Unit, and locality to which they refer for release of information pertaining to any findings of child abuse or neglect investigation involving me.


    Furthermore, I certify that I have made true, correct, and complete answers without any material omissions of any kind. In addition, I certify that I have provided the information on this application in the knowledge it will be relied upon in considering my application. I understand that any omission or falsely answered statement made by me in this application or any supplement to this application will be cause for denial of or termination of my employment with the Trumbull Career and Technical Center.
