1. Trainees need to be in individual rooms and not sharing with another trainee as the sound will distort when using zoom. Due to the nature of the course, a stable internet connection is required.
2. Each trainee will need to work from an individual device, a laptop or PC are fine, a tablet or phone will not be suitable. This device must have a working camera and microphone.
3. At the end of the course trainees will be required to do an online exam and they will also do a 10-minute presentation on PowerPoint; therefore, a basic level of computer knowledge will be required.
4. Trainees will also be asked to teach a student how to lift and analyse their performance.
5. On completion of the course trainees will have to do a 1000 word report on a manual handling risk assessment.
6. Manual handling lifts will be checked online so all trainees will need a box (less than 3kg) and some form of trolley. Anything that has wheels will suffice, for example a buggy would be fine.
7. It is important that the trainee has sufficient space to be able demonstrate their lifts.
8. Interruptions while attending the course should be kept to a minimum. Trainees must attend the entire course to qualify for certification.
9. ID may be required in the event of an invalid entry when uploading results to the QQI QBS portal
