Estimated GPAs are provided only in connection with programs or opportunities requiring that candidates have a GPA or meet a GPA threshold to be considered.
Candidates are strongly encouraged to request a waiver of the GPA requirement and send a copy of the Provost's Letter on GPA at New College to the program or opportunity of interest as a first step in addressing the absence of a GPA. If that letter is not sufficient, an estimated GPA can be requested.
GPA Proxy Determination Policy - FAQ
In order for an estimated GPA to be calculated, you must provide supporting documentation that indicates the need for GPA in connection with the opportunity. Supporting documentation can take the form of
1) a link to a website that indicates that candidates for the program or opportunity must have a meet or exceed a specific GPA to be considered; or
2) copies of communication (preferably emails with the sender's name, institution, and contact information) from a department head, admission director, or other individual connected with the admission decision process that indicates the need for a GPA or a GPA threshold and a letter from New College indicating an estimated GPA will be an acceptable proxy.
