NEW ERA (Gen Z) Youth & Young adults Collective is a youth-led movement made up of diverse young people and young adults who are committed to re-imagining the communities they live in and creating positive change from the ground up.
Based in Ōtara but open to youth and young adults from across Tāmaki Makaurau and beyond, NEW ERA brings together driven, creative, and community-minded rangatahi who want to grow, lead, and give back—together.
This collective is for young people who are passionate about personal growth, leadership, and service; who want to connect with like-minded peers; and who are ready to be positive role models and change-makers for their generation.
Members of NEW ERA are supported to build real-world leadership skills through:
- Paid and voluntary community project work
- National and international travel opportunities
- Personal and professional development
- Young people are also encouraged and supported to identify real needs in their communities and design initiatives to respond. These initiatives may be one-off events or ongoing projects. By creating and delivering their own kaupapa, members develop practical project management and leadership skills, including:
- Taking collective action to support and uplift others
- Responding collaboratively to community challenges
- Planning, delivering, and evaluating outcomes
