  • Guidance to comply when filling this e-checklist:

    Evidences can be added in form of photos, audio files or videos, but the Max size limit is 5MB each. 

    The report gets sent back to the user on the user Email in this form.

    A comment is mandatory for every section, and every time you do not 'tick' a box.

  • Note: Australia does not have Navtex Warning, however, the same is included in the EGC messages from Sat C. Same to be closely monitored, recorded, and plotted. All plotted/ relevant ones to be signed by all Navigating officers, including Master.

    A record of enforced Nav Warnings must be obtained on board and updated on charts etc. In case the same is not at hand, same can be requested from office.

  • Note: **Refer Australian chart index AUS 5000 (Northern index) &AUS 5001 (Southern Index) and confirm that all Australian local charts (Published by AHS) for the voyage are on board.

  • Note: *Ensure that all ENCs are corrected and kept up to date. AMSA has zero tolerance on this matter.

     

    **If ECDIS is the primary means of Navigation, check whether back up arrangements are provided by 2nd ECDIS or paper charts.

     

    ***If back arrangement are paper charts then vessel should have all courses plotted/markings on current voyage chart and kept ready for immediate use (In case ECDIS fails)."

     

    ****Having the AMSA marine notice 07/2017 “Guidance on ECDIS from ships calling at Australian ports” is Mandatory.

     

    *****In case the alarms are muted in Port while berthed the password to be known only to Master.

  • * Important- While testing SART ensure that radar range scale is as small as possible and SART should be held in line with radar scanner. Ensure completed on X-Band Radar.

  •  High Risk deficiencies on the Bridge

    • Passage plan not in accordance with SOLAS V Reg.34. (i.e. No consideration of Marine Environmental Protection.)
    • GBRMP (PSSA) & No REEF VTS pre-entry report missing.
    • ECDIS alarm not set properly.
    • Incorrect selection of the Navarea (pertaining to Australia) in the Inmarsat-C EGC Set Up.
    • Original BA/ Aus. Charts NOT on Board.
    • Documentation (Bridge Checklists / Engine + Deck Log + ORB + GRB, etc.) not in order.
    • Rudder Angle Indicator not returning to Zero when wheel amidships.
    • MF/HF DSC self-test fails / no acknowledgment from shore stations/staff not familiar with operations.
    • GMDSS changeover from AC to DC not known by deck officers.
    • GMDSS battery - Voltage drop very drastic, cannot hold a charge.
