A comment is mandatory for every section, and every time you do not 'tick' a box.

 

High-Risk Deficiencies in MARPOL

• Chief Engineer & 2nd Engineer not familiar with the operation of OWS and Incinerator.
• Oily Water Separator Defective and crew unable to demonstrate operation.
• Garbage Record Book – Entries not as required / Cargo residues entries not completed.
• Sewage treatment plant defective.

A major part of the Engine Room check is its cleanliness, and the Operational Tests, which are covered in the last section. Also, refer to the checks of the Sewage Treatment Plant under the MARPOL Section.

The requirements below are in addition to the above. They are not conclusive, but they include the most common areas inspected by AMSA Inspectors.

High-risk deficiencies - Engine Room

• Setting of 220V & 440 V Feeder panel in engine room NOT made correctly and provision for testing the alarm is NOT provided.
• Funnel Flap not closing or Funnel comings cracked/holed
• Fire dampers not sealing or wasted or otherwise weak flaps.
• Fire dampers casings cracked / holed.
• Quick Closing Valves not operating correctly or not operating at all.
