About the competition
A bus trip, a regular walk, a bicycle commute through the suburbs - public health researchers at Menzies call these types of activities 'active transport'.
According to health research, active transport is one of the best things Tasmanians can do for their physical and mental wellbeing.
But we all know that what really makes active transport special are the stories that come along with being immersed in the real world.
We want you to share yours!
We're collecting spoken stories on the following themes:
- Competence - an active transport experience gave you a new sense that I can do this
- Belonging - an active transport experience gave you a new sense that I belong here
- Freedom - an active transport experience gave you a new sense that I can make my own choices
From the stories we receive, we will shortlist ten of the best.
If your story is shortlisted, you'll have the opportunity to workshop the story with prize-winning author, Sam George-Allen, and you'll be in the running to win one of several major prizes presented at an awards ceremony.
You'll also get the chance to develop your story for performance at a storytelling workshop.
We can't wait to hear your stories. Thank you for sharing them with us.
