    Summerville DREAM - Assistant Events and Marketing
  • Seasonal Parttime Position

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Assistance with all DREAM Events

    Assist with the management and operations for assigned DREAM events. Tasks are variable and staff must be flexible to “get the job completed,” core assignments include but not limited to.

    Assist with pre-event vendor registration, payments, communication and management.

    • Review payments, send invoices and payment reminders
    • Book payments into point-of-sale software
    • Assist with event marketing both creation and distribution
    • Assign vendor locations based on DREAM standards
    • Process vendor communication with event standards, rules/regulations and event procedures

     Assist with event operations

    • Load in and out all event equipment, tables, chairs, specialty equipment, vendor tent, signage, etc.
    • Point of contact for all vendors. Vendor reception and make sure they are setting up correctly and end of event assist with packing out.
    • Store and organize equipment and supplies needed for DREAM programs.
    • Communication with vendors, customers and potential participants DREAM future events, small business marketing, Summerville experiences and the like
    • Produce event marketing collateral ie photos and videos
    • Assist with merchandise sales and inventory control

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, run, skate, climb stairs, work outside in variable weather, work indoors at a desk, perform lifesaving techniques and stand; reach with hands and arms; speak, hear and see. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, glide or climb.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to “crowd size”

    Assistant Events and Marketing

    Seasonal Parttime Position

     Position reports to: Marketing & Events Manager  

    Work Schedule           

    Tasks assigned are associated with an anticipated average of 0-20 hours a week. Unless otherwise listed or assigned work has variable hours such as early morning, evening, weekend, and holidays.

    Salary: $15-18 an hour  

    DREAM will provide all equipment required to be successful, for example, access to office, WiFi, computer, software, website account access, DREAM golf cart, event supplies, cash management equipment, and customer/vendor access along with other items as assigned.

    All equipment and data, both intellectual and physical, are the property of Summerville DREAM.

    Working Conditions and Physical Abilities

    Office Location is downtown Summerville – office 100 S Main Street H

    • Ability to function in a professional office setting and outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions
    • Legally able to work in United States.
    • Driving proficiency and legal current divers license (required to drive DREAM golfcart)
    • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office plus willingness to learn other computer programs as required.
    • Ability to manage task and establish action items with benchmarks and deadlines
    • Ability to follow instructions effectively and to work with minimum supervision in a responsible and competent manner; to readily accept directions from those in a supervisory capacity; to be able to accept constructive criticism without resentment
    • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees committee members and board of directors; deal courteously and clearly with the vendors, public; demonstrate good judgment, tact and courtesy
    • Ability to perform in high stress situations
    • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test as assigned
    • Ability to lift at least 50+lbs
    • Must possess a clear speaking voice and the ability to communicate.
    • This position requires a professional demeanor and an orientation towards customer service. 
    • Schedule varies with early morning (average 6:00AM), evenings (average 9:00PM), holidays, weekends and weekdays. No guarantee of hours.
