• Return: How to Talk to Someone Who No Longer is Practicing the Faith

We all know someone who is no longer practicing the faith.  Maybe you’ve had someone say that they were raised Catholic, but no longer go to church.  Do you ever struggle with what to say to them?  Ever wonder how you can invite them back? Join us for our Fall Book Study "Return." Be ready for the holidays to open the door to meaningful conversation and possibly open the door to inviting one back.  Contact Irene with any questions at 814-476-7657 x7 or by email at evangelization@stfrancisxaviermckean.org
  • The Schedule is: Tuesdays, either at 10:00 a.m. or 6:30 p.m. October 6:  Understanding Why They Leave; October 13: Equip Yourself; October 27: Plant the Seeds & Start the Conversation; November 3: Mover Forward & Close the Loop; November 10: Personal & Moral Objections; November 17: Theological Objections & Conclusion

  • Format: (000) 000-0000.
  • You may switch between sessions, but to help us in our planning, when are we more likely to see you?*
  • Resources: You may join us without purchasing the book or the discussion guide, however you'll get more out of the study if you're able to do the reading. We will order the book in bulk to offer a $5 savings.

Return -- Book. The statistics are troubling: 6.5 people leave the Catholic Church for every one that joins, and 50% of young people who were raised Catholic are no longer Catholic today. The Catholic Church is hemorrhaging young people. Behind these statistics are countless stories of wounded families. Millions of mothers and fathers are longing for their prodigal children to come home to the Church, crying: “Where did we go wrong?” The passive wait-and-see approach is no longer an option. We need a different strategy. We need to understand the real reasons why our young people drift away, and we need a game plan to bring them home. We need Return.
