The Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) Committee at Stony Brook University cordially invites departments, students, friends and colleagues to attend our 32nd Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Closing Ceremony. At this event, we will recognize faculty, staff and students of Hispanic/Latino descent who are community advocates, leaders and outstanding academics in our Stony Brook community. These awards and scholarships represent the HHM Committee's recognition in the areas of student “Academic Excellence,” “Leadership,” “Athletics,” and “Community Service” as well as faculty and staff excellence.
In addition, we will confer the titles of “Madrina” and “Padrino” (Godmother/Godfather) upon a faculty/staff member(s) who has served as a leader and mentor to students of the Hispanic community at Stony Brook as recognized by the student body.
