The College of Education is pleased to announce the Cornelia Hoppe Art Exhibit Award, an exciting opportunity for our University of Oregon School of Art + Design students to show their work in the HEDCO Education Building at the College of Education in an exciting new art exhibition opportunity.
The award is named after Cornelia Hoppe, BS ’51 Education.
Any student regardless of major can submit. There will be cash award of $500 for artistic excellence given to the chosen artist in exchange for exhibiting the chosen artwork in the Student Academic Services Suite at the HEDCO Education Building for a period of roughly nine to twelve months.
All forms of art are welcome and encouraged, although please keep in mind the space is primarily used as a student lounge and the display surface is a wall. Two-dimensional pieces are highly preferred, which might include but is not limited to: paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media works, photography, and wall mounted sculptures. Other alternative possibilities that can be contained on a wall will also be considered. Video on monitors and Projections can't be accommodated at this time given the mixed use and abundant natural light of this space.
The wall area for artwork is approximately 12 feet long x 7 feet high and can accommodate one large piece or multiple smaller pieces.
