K9 Kampus policy states that any dog over the age of 10 years or if they have a serious medical/physical condition, or over the age of 8 years old for some large breed dogs (i.e. Great Danes): must have a Rainbow procedure on file when boarding. This is a precautionary measure to assist K9 Kampus in following the parents’ wishes in the unlikely event that their loved one passes away while in our care. Parents must provide an Emergency Contact for someone that can immediately pick up their loved ones and/or elect for K9 Kampus to contact one of our partnering organizations who will pick up your loved one and keep them at their facility until you return. They will also assist you in making arrangements for your loved one when you return. There is a fee for pick up and boarding your loved one until your return.
Please note that if you leave an emergency contact and we are unable to reach them, or they refuse to pick up your loved one, K9 Kampus will automatically contact one of the organizations that K9 Kampus works
with to assist us with your loved one. The partnering organization (Florida Pet Cremations/The Pet Loss
Center/Brevard Humane Society or other facility) will continue to board your loved one at their facility until you return and are able to decide what arrangements you want. Unfortunately, our facility is not equipped to continue to board your loved one if they pass. These organizations may require K9 Kampus to pre-pay their pickup fee, if they do, we will add this fee onto your board stay. If not, you will be required to pay all fees directly to the organization when you return. By signing this procedure, you accept the responsibility for their fee(s Any dog over the age of 10 or has medical/physical life-threatening condition(s) or over the age of 8 for some large breed dogs, cannot board with K9 Kampus unless there is a completed/signed K9 Kampus boarding Rainbow Procedure on file.
