Here's how it works.
Submit your dish(es) and a brief description about what it means to you, and why you'd like to see it included in this project.
If you have more than one dish - feel free to add them in the same form! Or if you think of something else later, come back and add another one.
A little bit about the project/frequently asked questions:
- My goal is to feature recipes and writers who sound like the following:
- You may not feel like you have a whole book in you - just a few recipes that mean a lot to you
- The dish may not be common, or you may feel like it might not appeal to the mainstream - but it's something that your community eats.
- The dish means something to you, and you want to share that story, and that flavour.
- This is going to be very much a for-profit project. I haven't yet worked out how remuneration will work, but it is very likely it will be a share of the profits. Submitting your recipe today doesn't commit you to anything, and I will run financial arrangements past you to ensure you are happy before going ahead.
- Why for-profit and not for charity?
- I am trying to prove that you do not need to have a restaurant, or have been on TV, or have a large amount of recipes. I want you to know that the people are willing to pay for the knowledge that you brought to the table without requiring the added feel-good factor of "it's for charity". That your knowledge is of value in and of itself.
- It is of course, up to you what you choose to do with your share of the earnings once you receive it.
- Is this a one-off project?
- I don't know yet - a lot will depend on how this goes.
- What if I decide to do a cookbook in the future?
- You retain the rights to your recipe and your story. The way this will work (haven't looked into legals yet) is that you will be granting us the right to publish your recipe and your story, but will also be able to choose to publish it yourself separately if you so wish.
- What if I don't have a recipe?
- Submit your idea anyway - I will collect these and put a call out for anyone who might have a recipe.
