  • Every Child PDX

    https://everychildpdx.org
  • Every Child PDX mobilizes communities to love and serve those impacted by the foster care system, from children to foster and bio families to case workers. At this time, Every Child expressed Bridgetown could best help by buidling Flash Boxes, buying essentials for kdis spending extended periods of time at ODHS branches, or by blessing case workers at your local branch.

Flash Boxes: a Flash Box is a surprise dose of encouragement for foster families in our community. At this time, the greatest need is Flash Boxes for families fostering teenagers. For information about how to build a box, click here. Completed boxes can be dropped off at Bridgetown Sunday – Thursday.

Buy Essentials for your ODHS Branch: Help stock each office with diapers, wipes, and cleaning supplies. Use this link, scroll down to the options with a house icon, and get shopping!

Bless your Branch by Showing Hospitality: Encourage your local ODHS office by providing a luncheon, coffee cart, putting together goodie bags for the staff, or even writing note cards of encouragement. Note: A new requirement per ODHS is that anyone entering the building must show proof of vaccination.

  • Refugee Care Collective

    https://refugeecarecollective.org
  • Refugee Care Collective provides transformative care to refugees resettled in Portland, Oregon, through mobilizing the city. They do this through restart kits, in-home English tutoring, family mentorship, youth mentorship programs, and through partnership with local resettlement agencies.

One way you can help is by builing a Restart Kit: Refugees arrive to Oregon with few possessions, and have to quickly build their lives again. Restart kits are plastic tubs filled with essential household items. A complete set is formed by eight unique restart kits, one for each area of the home. The kits are distributed to local resettlement agencies, service providers, and community members who give them directly to newly arrived families and those in need.

Click here for more information about how to build a kit. Kits can be dropped off at Bridgetown Sunday – Thursday.
