    The following rental policies have been developed for the safety and protection of our customers.  Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC reserves the right to terminate, suspend or deny use of our aircraft to any person who violates our policies, or fails to meet the requirements listed in this agreement. 

  • VFR Rental
    Renters who wish to operate Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC aircraft under day VFR conditions must meet the following requirements and abide by the following policies prior to renting an aircraft:

    ·         The renter will review these policies and sign this form stating that they agree to adhere to the policies listed in this agreement. The renter will receive a copy of this agreement for their records.

    ·         Must have a valid pilot’s certificate, a current and appropriate medical certificate (Drivers License for Light Sport), and a current bi- annual flight review endorsement.

    ·         An initial check-out is required by a Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC instructor. The length of this checkout is at the discretion of the flight instructor.

    ·         To ensure a certain level of proficiency, Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC requires that all renters log a minimum of 2 hours and 3 take-off and landings every 60 day time period in the RV-12. The renter is responsible for logging this time in their personal logbook. If a person is scheduled and our records indicate that a person is not current, they may be asked to show their logbook upon arrival to prove currency.

    ·         A re-check is required by a Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC instructor if the renter has not met the minimum requirements specified above.

    ·         All instruction in Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC aircraft will be with instructors authorized by Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC management.

    ·         An FAA flight plan is required to be filed and activated for any flights that will exceed 50 nautical miles from any point of departure.

    ·         Rental flights beyond 100 nautical miles, flights remaining overnight, or flights of several days or more are limited to renters who have been on file for more than 90 days or must have prior management approval. The renter responsible for ensuring that the aircraft is hangared (if possible) or tied down at their destination or any en-route point if the weather is a concern. This includes wind, snow, hail, thunderstorms, etc. The renter is responsible for the costs incurred for such services. The renter will also be responsible for the costs incurred if they become stranded by weather and Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC has to retrieve the aircraft. These costs may include an aircraft used to fly to that destination, and the cost of two pilots to fly both aircraft back to Waukesha. Renters will not be responsible for costs incurred if they become stranded due to mechanical difficulty not caused by pilot negligence.

    ·         A minimum flight charge of .5 hour will be billed for local flights and 2.0 hours will be billed for every full 24 hour period that the aircraft is gone. Example: You schedule an aircraft from 3:00pm on a Friday through 3pm on the following Sunday. The aircraft is scheduled for two full 24 hour periods. You return at 3pm on Sunday having 3.5 hours logged. The minimum charge of 4 hours will be incurred.

    ·         Customers are required to cancel an aircraft as soon as practical if the flight has been canceled or if their departure time has been delayed. Any aircraft not signed out after 30 minutes of its reserved time may be rented to another customer. All renters are required to sign out the aircraft. Information required is: Name, destination, expected return time and signature. Renters must contact Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC as soon as possible if their return is delayed.

    ·         All operations in Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC aircraft will be to public use airports only.

    ·         All operations in Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC aircraft must conform to Federal Aviation Regulations. Additionally, the aircraft must be operated in accordance with the Pilot’s Operating Handbook, checklists and placards.

    ·         The renter is responsible for ensuring that the aircraft is within and will remain within its legal weight and balance limits prior to flight.

    ·         Flights over any of the Great Lakes are prohibited, additionally, flights over any large body of water beyond gliding distance from shore are prohibited

    ·         Under no circumstances are renters allowed to load or disembark passengers or baggage, secure, untie or chock the aircraft while the engine is operating.

    ·         Smoking or carriage of pets is prohibited in Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC aircraft.

    ·         Formation flights involving Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC aircraft is not authorized.

    ·         All operations will be conducted within the contiguous 48 states. Flights to Canada or Mexico are prohibited.

    ·         Flights returning after 8pm will need to make prior arrangements with Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC personnel in advance regarding aircraft storage and keys.

  • IFR Rental
    This aircraft is a Special Light Sport Aircraft and is prohibited from operating in IMC conditions and on an IFR flight plan.

    Night Rental
    Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC aircraft may not be operated from 1 hour after sunset to one hour before sunrise unless the following requirements have been met by the renter.

    ·         The renter must have a minimum of a private pilot certificate and have logged a minimum of 130 hours total time.

    ·         For renters requesting to operate at night who have no previous night flight experience other than that required to obtain a private pilots certificate: a minimum of 5 hours of dual instruction from a Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC flight instructor must be received and logged. This instruction will include: night operations, navigation via pilotage and radio navigation, lost procedures, normal and cross-wind take-offs and landings at both towered and non towered airports.

    ·         Renters who wish to retain their night rental privileges are expected to maintain their night currency by logging a minimum of 3 hours and 3 take-offs and landings every 90 day time period in our aircraft at night. The renter is responsible for logging this time in their personal logbook. If a person is scheduled and our records indicate that a person is not current, they may be asked to show their logbook upon arrival to prove currency.

    ·         A night recheck will be required if the above minimum requirements have not been met. The extent of the recheck will be at the discretion of the instructor.

    ·         Renters who wish to rent Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC aircraft under IFR flight rules at night will be required to receive a night IFR checkout from a Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC instructor.

    ·         Night flights in excess of 50 nautical miles are limited to night current, instrument rated and instrument current pilots.

    ·         Flights returning after 8pm will need to make prior arrangements with Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC personnel in advance regarding aircraft storage and keys.

     

  • Liability Agreement:

    ·         Renter expressly acknowledges personal liability to pay Adventure Aviation, LLC (aircraft registered owner) and/or Stein’s Aircraft Services, LLC on demand for the following:

    o    Service and time charges computed at the applicable posted rates until the Aircraft is returned to  Steins Aircraft Services.

    o    Any loss or damage to the Aircraft, its components, parts or equipment during the rental period.

    o    All taxes, assessments, and charges imposed by any national, state, municipal or other public or airport authority relating to the use or operation of the Aircraft during the time of use of the Aircraft, excluding state registration and FCC licensing charges.

    o    The amount of any landing and parking fees, tie-down, or hangar charges until Aircraft is returned to Steins Aircraft Services.

    ·         Renter agrees to reimburse for any and all costs, expenses and reasonable attorney’s fees incurred by Adventure Aviation, LLC and/or Steins Aircraft Services, LLC in the event suit is instated by either party against the Renter to recover possession or to enforce any of the terms, covenants, and conditions hereof, or to collect any sum of money damages or costs. Steins Aircraft Services, LLC and Adventure Aviation and Renter expressly agree that any and all suits shall be governed by Wisconsin law.

    ·         Renter agrees to be responsible for any damages or losses.

    Renter acknowledgements and agreements:

    A.    During the time in which Renter possesses and uses the Aircraft, Renter shall assume and maintain full operational control over the Aircraft.

    B.    All Aircraft operations shall be conducted under FAR 91 and shall be in strict accordance with the FARs then in effect. “FARs” means the Aeronautics Regulations of Title 14, Parts 1 to 399 of the United States Code of Federal Regulations, as amended.

    C.    Renter acknowledges and agrees that the Aircraft is the property of Adventure Aviation and is managed and rented through Steins Aircraft Services.

    D.    Renter acknowledges that Adventure Aviation is responsible for maintaining the Aircraft in an airworthy condition.

    E.    Renter acknowledges that he/she has completed a preflight inspection of the Aircraft and has determined that the Aircraft is in condition for safe flight.

    F.    Renter agrees to return the Aircraft at the scheduled time, weather permitting.

    G.    Renter agrees to properly secure the Aircraft after each flight and to secure hangar space for the Aircraft during inclement weather.

    H.    Renter acknowledges that he/she will review the Aircraft logbooks before the first flight of any rental period.

    I.      Renter agrees not to tamper with, molest, or attempt to repair any parts of the Aircraft or its accessories, but will contact the owner/operator for instructions upon encountering mechanical malfunctions.

    J.     If the Aircraft is abandoned away from the home base airport, the Renter will be charged pilot expenses plus flight time at double normal rates to return the Aircraft to home base.

    K.    Renter agrees to report any Aircraft damage, accident or incident to Steins Aircraft Services as soon as possible.

    L.     Aircraft is NOT to be moved in our out of Steins hangars by renter.

  • RV-12 Special Considerations & Acknowledgements

    ·         Aircraft is to run on NON-ETHENAL AUTO FUEL, Minimum 91 Octane.  If 100LL is used, please add the fuel additive Decaline, provided, per manufactures instructions.

    ·         Canopy not to be left open unattended or left open during windy conditions.

    ·         Devices used in cockpit are not to make contact with canopy (except suction cup).

    ·         Any discrepancies in HOBBS or tach time are to be reported immediately prior to use.
