  • Purpose:

    The purpose of this program is to create a pathway to recognize, reward, and prepare high potential department leaders for future growth opportunities within the community-based care division of Avamere Living.  This program will serve as a way to ensure consistent practices and standard operating procedures across the division, while also providing additional support resources throughout the division.

    Structure:

    Each region will be supported by two Mentors for each of the following disciplines within community-based care: 

    • Executive Director
    • Director of Health Services
    • Arbor Administrator
    • Director of Sales and Outreach
    • Business Office Manager
    • Resident Care Coordinator
    • LPN
    • Plant Operations
    • Dietary Manager
    • Director of Life Enrichment   
       

    Anyone interested in becoming a mentor will first communicate their interest with their Executive Director for approval and support indicating that they feel the individual is ready for this next step and added responsibility.  Mentors will be selected via an application process (application form attached) and interviewed by a panel to include at minimum, the Regional Director of Operations, Director of HR, and Division President. Clinical panels will also include the Regional Nurse Consultant and VP of Clinical Services. Additional individuals may be included. 

    Mentors will be required to complete an initial ‘train the trainer’ training as well as subsequent trainings on leadership topics.

    Mentors will receive additional compensation ($2 / hour for hourly and the equivalent of that for salaried mentors) for taking on the following additional responsibilities:

    • Serve as a part of the mentor team to develop a standardized training program for their discipline.
    • Training new employees hired into the role they are responsible for mentoring within their group of covered communities.
    • Serve as a champion for system and process related questions within their region.
    • Serve as the designated person to pilot new systems / programs within their region.
    • Lead and support the implementation of new systems / programs within their region.
    • Serve as a positive role model for those in your assigned reason.
    • Provide feedback as appropriate, seeking guidance on any complex situations from your RDO/RNC or Director of HR.
    • Lead quarterly zoom meetings with their assigned region in collaboration with the mentor team.
    • Lead in person meeting with assigned region once per year in collaboration with the mentor team.
    • As needed, travel to communities within assigned region to support in the event of vacancies.
